Chrome and Ice Bigger and Better.
Back to the Bricks annual winter car show Chrome and Ice takes place every year in February. The show is a great showcase of local cars and benefits school related charities. This years show was extended to three days and it set attendence records. The main lobby showcased supercars that exceeded 200mph. Lambo, Ferrari, Chevy, Dodge and a Shelby Cobra.
Arena one had a Dragstrip themed display showcasing cars from the newly improved Lapeer International Dragway. Arena one had some of the best cars in the show. The Mad Bomber, a custom Ford truck with a Chevy powerplant, was made as a tribute to the troops and the Bomber plane theme complete with bombs and ammo was a show stopper. No dragstrip would be complete without some serious muscle, the Copo Camero 50th Hotwheels theme and the Cobrajet Mustang fit the bill. The strip was finished with a simulated race tree and two banners one from Chrome and Ice and one from Lapeer Dragway.
Arena two was the place to be to see the Classics. Bad Apple is a 1954 Ford Customline the paint and the attention to detail is amazing with this car. Another standout in arena two was a custom 1956 Chevy truck called Sunset Dream this truck was a beauty for sure.
Overall the expanded format worked great and should be the standard for years to come. Over 125 cars, 50+ vendors and attendence records all work to benefit a great cause. The Back to the Bricks Chrome and Ice show is a great kickoff to the automotive year. See you guys at Back to the Bricks in August and as always
