Two local track are reborn for racing excitement
Summer is pushing its way in and that means one thing in the Oakland and Lapeer areas. Racing is here. Waterford Hills Road Racing just outside Clarkston Mi. and Lapeer International Dragway in Lapeer Mi. are two differnt styles of track but have something in common. Both tracks are running on new sufraces. Waterford Hills repaved its 60 year old track last winter and the smooth surface is sure to bring more racers out to the track for sure. On opening weekend records were broken in multiple classes. Lapeer International Dragway has a new owner and he is remodeling the track with new surface, bleachers, and lighting system. Lapeeer dragways opening weekend or was a test and tune and there was some big horsepower monsters out there to test on the new surface. With the new improvements to these tracks the motorsport scene in the area is looking good. With the furture opening of the Oakland County ORV park we will have a track for every need. This summer is looking new, fresh and fast.
